She was born and raised in the lovely island of Bohol, Philippines. She’s currently in Cebu City, Philippines where she studied college and earned her Masters degree.
Since childhood, she has always known that she will forever be a water baby. She continues to look for the best beaches in the world and she hopes to swim in the stunning Caribbean, Santorini and Maldives beaches.
She loves the outdoors, food, and photography. She dreams of backpacking around New Zealand someday.
She goes on solitary travels most of the time. Butitoy, a Nikon D40, was her best travel buddy for 5 years. Unfortunately, Butitoy was accidentally dropped into the ocean during one of Jaswandering’s adventures. She has since replaced Butitoy with Butitoy V1.0, a Nikon D7000. However, the love for her new travel buddy is and will never the same as the original Butitoy. (char!) She also has a GoPro Hero 3+ for her outdoor shots and her iphone serves as the official backup camera.
She started blogging in 2007 on Blogger to vent out her personal takes on heartbreaks, politics, religion, finance and anything under the sun. She moved from Blogger to WordPress and took a liking. Blogger has since been shut down and remained loyal to WP for years.
One early morning in 2014, she decided to finally get a domain and commit to making this as safekeeping of her travel and food diaries. Jaswandering is a combination of her first name, Jas, and what she likes doing: wandering.
Her favorite book is “The Alchemist” by Paulo Cuelho. She highly recommends this book to all those who love to travel.
Her favorite quote: “No one realizes how beautiful it is to travel until he comes home and rests his head on his old, familiar pillow.” – Lin Yutang
PS: She would love to see you all on the road one day. Don’t forget to say “hi”!
